Networks and streaming giants delivered a round of entertaining and thrilling new K-dramas in May. From top stars like Kim Bum, Lee Dong Wook, and Kim So Yeon for “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938,” to Kim Woo Bin’s small screen comeback “Black Knight,” viewers will get to see more exciting series this month.
Here are 3 new K-dramas airing this week, plus current series that totally deserve a marathon!
‘One Day Off’
Lee Na Young
Helmed by Lee Jong Pil of “Samjin Company English Class,” the newly-released K-drama “One Day Off” stars Lee Na Young, Park Se Wan, Goo Kyo Hwan, and Kil Hae Yeon.
Set in the 1990s, it focuses on the journey of Park Ha Kyung (Lee Na Young), a Korean literature teacher. Seeing that she is living a cynical life, she decides to break away from the usual and dedicates her Saturday for a day trip out of the city. Here, she is able to meet new people and learn about their stories.
“One Day Off” made its premiere on May 24, airing every Wednesday through Wavve.
‘Delightfully Deceitful’

From life drama, “Delightfully Deceitful” will surely bring laughter to viewers as the comedy-crime series depicts the story of Lee Ro Um (Chun Woo Hee), a genius scam artist. She becomes wealthy because of her extraordinary talent as a con artist and by committing fraud.
However, she gets involved with Han Moo Young, a righteous lawyer portrayed by Kim Dong Wook.

Joining the duo as “Delightfully Deceitful” lead stars are Yoon Park and Park So Jin. In addition, “Juvenile Justice” scene-stealer Lee Yeon is also included as one of the supporting cast members.
“Delightfully Deceitful” will be tvN’s newest Monday and Tuesday K-drama, which will air on May 29.
‘Happiness Battle’

Last on the list of new K-dramas this May is “Happiness Battle.”
The novel-based series focuses on the lives of five mothers, who get caught up in their own battles as they seek the true meaning of happiness.
The 16-episode K-drama will showcase the intense confrontation and riff between the five individuals.
“Happiness Battle” will be headlined by Lee El, Jin Seo Yun, Cha Ye Ryun, Park Hyo Joo, and Woo Jeong Won.
The uopcopming revenge series will premiere on May 31, airing every Wednesday and Thursday via ENA.
Current K-drama: ‘Dr. Romantic 3’

Reigning the Friday and Saturday time slot is the medical K-drama “Dr. Romantic 3.”
Headlined by Han Seok Kyu, Lee Sung Kyung, and Ahn Hyo Seop, viewers witness the drama and heartfelt stories of staff and patients at Doldam Hospital.
“Dr. Romantic 3” is available via SBS and Disney+ for global viewers.
