It’s incredibly rare to get a chance to meet your idol, let alone have a meal with them, but that is exactly what happened to Malaysian influencer and YouTuber Jenn Chia.
On February 9, the content creator, who is a fan of Stephen Chow, left a comment on the Hong Kong comedy icon’s Instagram account, telling him that it’s her dream to meet him.
“You have been a huge part of my life and an inspiration to a lot of the videos that I create. I even learnt Cantonese from watching your movies. Sing Ye, when can I meet you?” wrote Jenn.
Unexpectedly, he replied: “Anytime. Are you coming to Hong Kong?” to which Jenn said: “Can I meet you next Saturday in Hong Kong? Even if it’s just five minutes. I’ll be so happy.”
Jenn then shared their exchange on her IG (@soimjenn), asking her 509K followers to like the comment so Stephen will take notice.
And it worked.
