One way to know that you’ve made it in the K-Pop industry is for other artists to start covering your songs. In this day and age, there have been countless songs by older artists that have been covered multiple times by their juniors, but there are some that stand out among the rest in terms of just how many times they’ve been covered.
And when it comes to K-Pop boy group songs, there might not be any that have been covered just as many times as “Mirotic” by TVXQ.
The song is known for its fairly challenging vocals, iconic choreography, and perfect mix of sensuality and confidence that not just anyone could pull off.
It’s been covered by nearly every fellow male SM Entertainment artist, as well as those from other major labels too.
There have also been a couple of collaboration stages between different boy groups that have covered the song together!
Some of the covers have been more professionally done on stage in front of huge audiences, while others were more casual vocal covers done in studios or even in the privacy of the artist’s home, such as the most recent case with BTS‘s Jungkook!
Everyone from early third generation artists to even the contestants that were on Boys Planet and Peak Time have tried their hand at covering the song, and it’s arguable which did it the best.
And it’s not just boy groups — girl groups have covered the epic hit too!
K-Pop fans on Reddit recently discussed just how often the song has been covered, with only a couple other songs such as “Candy” by H.O.T and “Growl” by EXO being suggested as possibly covered as much as “Mirotic” has been.
There might never be a K-Pop song that tops “Mirotic” when it comes to being the most memorable and covered by other artists!
