A former K-Pop girl group member recently went viral after her response to a fan commenting that they were gay.

Shin Jiyoon (also known as Jiyoon) was a member of IST Entertainment‘s girl group Weeekly until May 2022, when she withdrew from the group due to health issues.

Since then, she has remained active on social media, going sharing short funny videos as well as photos from her day-to-day life.

Jiyoon also often goes live on her Instagram account, replying to fans’ random comments. She often lets her humorous side show with her responses!

The moment everyone can’t get enough of happened when a fan left a comment saying that they were gay. Jiyoon responds like a true ally, saying,  good for you” while giving a thumbs up and smiling.

She gets serious momentarily, getting close to the camera before repeating, “good for you, you’re gay,” to convey that she really means what she’s saying!

After repeating the phrase, she gestures with her hand while saying, “you’re girly pop.”

The phrase “girly pop” was popularized by a TikTok user who used emoticons to decide how they would react to someone telling them they are gay. The term has a positive connotation and has gone viral on the app.
